The runner-up in the Grade 2 San Vicente at Santa Anita invaded for an allowance that marked his two-turn debut, and he ran a valiant race in defeat. Dessman spotted his rivals several lengths at the start, trailed to the backside, advanced four wide around the final turn and into the stretch and still had more, putting in a determined bid through the lane in the 1 1/16-mile race, won by South Florida invader Last Judgement.

A full brother to champion Monomoy Girl, he made his two-turn debut in a maiden special weight over 1 1/16 miles and went very wide into the first turn after breaking from post 9. He advanced down the backside, moved to the leaders between horses at the quarter pole and ran through to the wire but lost a photo for second. It was the second start of his career.
