Southern California-based runner landed at Oaklawn for his debut due to the temporary shutdown at Santa Anita and adapted to a new surface like a pro, winning a maiden special weight sprint by 5 3/4 lengths. He set a pressured pace and went on to cover six furlongs in a quick 1:10.17. The 3-year-old by Munnings is from the female family of Serena’s Song. He could be headed next to Keeneland, co-owner Erik Johnson said.

He set the pace on a tiring track and had more, going on to a clear win in an optional $16,000 claiming sprint. But what was perhaps more noteworthy came after the race as there was a 22-way shake for Northern Trail.
