Rampellini: Oaklawn horses to watch for week of April 4
SOUL P SAY
Trainer: Allen Milligan
Last Race: March 31, 6th
Finish: 2nd by seven lengths
Beyer: 76
He was the only front-runner who stuck around late in a $50,000 conditioned claiming route won by a class dropper who closed from last. For his effort, Soul P Say equaled his best career Beyer Speed Figure, a 76.
FREEZE LINE
Trainer: Joe Petalino
Last Race: March 31, 8th
Finish: 4th by 3 1/4 lengths
Beyer: 61
He launched his career from the rail post and after breaking inward had one horse beat down the backside in a field of 12. Freeze Line advanced on the turn along the rail, was angled out in the stretch, and picked up a number of rivals before galloping out strongly. He is a half-brother to Grade 2-winning sprinter Force Freeze, an earner of $764,424.
GEORGIA’S REWARD
Trainer: Ron Moquett
Last Race: March 31, 9th
Finish: 1st by 1 3/4 lengths
Beyer: 68
She has been favored against Arkansas-breds in her three starts at the meet, winning two of those races, including the biggest prize for her division, the $100,000 Rainbow Miss. She raced closer to the pace than usual in the stakes, and put in a determined bid to run down the leader. Earlier in her career, Georgia's Reward ran a competitive race against open company in a maiden special weight Churchill Downs.
