She won an Arkansas-bred sprint for fillies and mares when turning back in distance March 6, then took on males for another shot at statebred stakes company last out in the $75,000 Arkansas Breeders. Pistolpackinpenny stretched out to two turns for the race and closed well to just miss to a winner who had placed in a Grade 3 stakes in January. Fires has said he feels the mare is at her best sprinting.
