Raki tops longshot exacta in Miss Gracie Stakes

The 29-1 longshot Raki stormed down the center of the Gulfstream Park turf course Saturday to capture the $75,000 Miss Gracie by a length over 30-1 Beachwood Ella. It was another half-length back to Zarina in third.
The Miss Gracie was for 3-year-old fillies at the about distance of 7 1/2 furlongs on turf.
Also on Saturday, the jackpot carryover in the Rainbow 6 went unclaimed and it will be at $1,457,629.59 heading into the card Sunday. There were multiple tickets with six winners Saturday, returning $39,851. The jackpot has not been hit for 40 days, since July 6.
Raki ($61.40) was content to let the pace go as Charlotte the Brit set fractions of 23.31 seconds for the opening quarter and 46.60 for the half-mile, pushed along by Vow to Recover. Raki was angled out on the final turn, came into the stretch full of run, and moved past the leaders to cover the distance on firm ground in 1:28.89. A $2 exacta with Raki on top of Beachwood Ella returned $1,064.
Carlos Lugo was aboard the winner for trainer Eduardo Azpurua Jr.
Raki is a daughter of Two Step Salsa owned by Black Chevron Racing Stable. She was winning the third race of her career from nine starts and for her effort earned $44,175. Her career bankroll now stands at $94,535.
