Michael Burns On Rainbow Bridge rallied from off the pace Saturday to win the Lady Angela Stakes at Woodbine.

ETOBICOKE, Ontario – On Rainbow Bridge captured the $125,800 Lady Angela Stakes off an eight-month layoff under a fine ride Saturday from Skye Chernetz at Woodbine.

On Rainbow Bridge ($9.80) stalked the leading favorite She Ain’t Bad on the backstretch before joining her up front along the rail nearing the quarter pole. On Rainbow Bridge took control in the stretch and held off a closing Sweater Weather to prevail by a nose, completing the seven-furlong distance in 1:23.57. Ida Bambina checked in nearly three lengths back in third, while She Ain’t Bad faded to fifth in the 10-horse field.

“We got lucky, and a spot opened up on the rail,” Chernetz said. “I just asked her to go through, and she responded.”

On Rainbow Bridge collected $75,000 in her third stakes triumph for Triple K Stable and trainer Dave Cotey.
