Rainbow 6 returns $1,934 after pool of $17.1 million
HALLANDALE BEACH, Fla. – The Rainbow 6 returned $1,934.68 to those that had all six winners Saturday at Gulfstream Park. There were approximately 7,445 winning tickets sold on the winning sequence of 8-5-5-2-1-7.
On a day when the entire pool had to be paid out, there was $14,405,290 wagered into the 20-cent Rainbow 6 on Saturday on top of the $2,775,118 carryover.
The sequence began with a 13-horse field of maiden 3-year-olds on the turf, which was won by the even-money favorite Social Paranoia ($4.20).
The second leg of the Rainbow 6 was the $100,000 Sand Springs Stakes in which second choice Valedictorian ($7.40) held off even-money favorite Proctor’s Ledge. Restoring Hope ($7.60), in his first start since running eighth in the Belmont Stakes, won an allowance race as the favorite in the third leg of the Rainbow 6.
Tombelaine ($21), in an allowance race, Focus Group ($5.80) in the Pan American, and Maximum Security ($11.60) in the Florida Derby completed the sequence.
