Rainbow 6 jackpot to be paid out on Sunday

Gulfstream is hosting a forceout of its growing Rainbow 6 pool Sunday. Entries are drawn Thursday.
Assuming the Rainbow 6 jackpot isn’t swept by a solo winning ticket Friday or Saturday, several million dollars in new handle can be expected with the forceout, given this week starts with a carryover of $222,085. A $350,000 pool guarantee is in effect as a new three-day weekend begins Friday.
The nominal highlight of a nine-race card Friday is a $51,000 first-level allowance that leads off the 20-cent Rainbow 6 as race 4. Father Glado, scratched last Saturday from the Bear’s Den by trainer Jose D’Angelo, figures as one of the favorites in a well-matched field of seven entered in the one-mile main-track race. Other contenders include Magic Eclipse, Ludington, and Klugman.

First post is 2:55 p.m. Eastern, with the Rainbow 6 starting at 4:38 and the last race going at 7:22. A slight rain chance and highs near 90 are in the forecast.
The Rainbow 6 pool was last emptied July 8.
◗ While Miguel Vasquez enters this week comfortably atop the jockey standings with 79 wins, there’s a tight three-way race for second among Leonel Reyes (56), Edgar Perez (55), and Emisael Jaramillo (53). Jaramillo, who suffered cracked ribs in a July 8 spill, is sidelined until later this month. He recently took time to visit family and friends in his native Venezuela.
◗ Apprentice rider Jason Huayas is now competing with a seven-pound allowance (down from 10) after notching his fifth career victory last Friday aboard Hot Bode.
