With rain in forecast, Golden Gate will race Thursday instead of Friday
With a forecast for significant rain on Friday, Golden Gate Fields will run an eight-race program on Thursday that was originally scheduled for Friday.
Entries for the eight-race program are unchanged. First post time is 12:45 p.m. Pacific.
Forecasts call for more than two inches of rain beginning late Thursday into Friday evening, with the bulk of the rain expected from before dawn on Friday and through the day.
Racing is scheduled to be held at Golden Gate on Saturday and Sunday.
With both Santa Anita and Golden Gate operating on Thursday, the $1 golden hour pick four, combining the last two races from both venues, and the $5 golden hour double, encompassing the last race at each track, will be offered.
Santa Anita has racing scheduled for four days this week, through Sunday.
