Raider stays perfect at Northlands with Sonoma Handicap victory
Raider kept her perfect record at Northlands Park intact with a 1 1/4-length victory in the $60,576 Sonoma Handicap on Saturday. She paid $4.40 and posted a final time of 1:45.63 in the 1 1/16-mile race for 3-year-old fillies. The track was rated “good.”
Raider, trained by Greg Tracy, has not lost in five starts at Northlands and has an overall record of 10-6-2-1 for earnings of $211,970.
Ridden by Rico Walcott while carrying the high weight of 123 pounds, Raider was in a stalking position early, took over the lead in midstretch from Dazzling Chic, and then drew off to win convincingly. Dazzling Chic held on to finish second over I Miss Back When, who chased a fast pace set by Blues Roar.
A British Columbia-bred daughter of Stephanotis, Raider is owned by Curtis Landry.
