Race run without wagering at Pinnacle

NEW BOSTON, MICH - The eighth race on Pinnacle Race Course's Saturday card was run as a non-wagering event after thunderstorms moved through the area and the facility lost electrical power. Stormy Fellow splashed home first in the race, which was delayed for nearly a half-hour.

The horses were in the paddock for about 40 minutes waiting for the storm to pass and for power to return to the plant. They were finally sent postward when the weather lifted slightly, but with no power to the tote or television systems. The race was the final leg of two gimmicks and those were paid. The daily double of 1-all paid $2.20 and the 1-1-all Pick Three paid $4.60.

This isPpinnacle's inaugural meet. The season began July 18 with the facility still under construction.
