Quint's Brew ready for step up in class

Quint’s Brew, a two-time stakes winner in Ned Allard’s barn, completed an encouraging five-furlong workout Wednesday morning at Delaware Park. Allard is pointing the colt toward the Grade 2 Carter at Aqueduct, a massive step up for the rising star.
“He had a very nice breeze,” Allard said. “Galloped out strong, went very well.”
Allard’s 4-year-old colt began his 2025 campaign with a runaway victory in the Jennings, easily defeating the state-restricted field at Laurel by six lengths. He romped again in the General George last month, powering home to win in open company by 5 1/2 lengths.
Allard said that Quint’s Brew completed five furlongs in 1:02.40 on Wednesday. It was his third workout since his last start, and for a trainer with big ambitions on his mind, it was yet another step in the right direction.
“He’s been training like a different animal lately, and I think he’s ready for it,” Allard said.
Quint’s Brew has the chance to give his 78-year-old trainer his first Grade 2 stakes win since 1993, when 3-year-old filly Miss Indy Anna won the Churchill Downs Budweiser Breeders’ Cup Handicap.
