Quickly Park It will be pointed to the Grade 3 Jimmy Durante Stakes at a mile on turf at Del Mar on Dec. 3 after winning her stakes debut in Saturday’s $75,900 Pike Place Dancer Stakes for 2-year-old fillies at Golden Gate Fields.

Quickly Park It ($26) closed from last in a field of seven to win the Pike Place Dancer by a convincing six lengths under jockey William Antongeorgi.

“I was impressed with that,” trainer Sean McCarthy said Sunday.

Quickly Park It raced on the rail on the second turn and had an uninterrupted rally to reach the front with more than a furlong remaining.

Quickly Park It pulled away, and was not urged late. She was timed in 1:39.42 and earned a career-best Beyer Speed Figure of 67.

Ami Please (8-5) finished second after setting an early pace of 23.21 seconds for the opening quarter-mile and 47.43 for a half-mile. Ami Please finished a length in front of 5-1 Sally’s Sassy.

Bolt’s Broad, the 6-5 favorite, finished fourth, followed by Juana Gallo, Smiling Lady, E Z Pharis.

Bolt’s Broad was well positioned behind the leaders with three furlongs remaining, but could not sustain the threat.

Jennifer’s d’Light, the 9-5 morning-line favorite, was scratched earlier in the day.

Quickly Park It has won 2 of 3 starts and earned $95,920 for owner and breeder John Harris. The filly is the first stakes winner for Prospect Park, who is by Tapit and stands at Harris’ farm in California.

Trained at Santa Anita by McCarthy, Quickly Park It was fourth in a $50,000 claimer for maidens at 5 1/2 furlongs on dirt at Del Mar on Aug. 19, and won a maiden special weight race for statebreds at a mile on turf nine days later.

“She worked well before I ran her,” McCarthy said. “She didn’t like the kickback on dirt. I had it in the back of my mind to get her on the grass fairly quickly.”

The $100,000 Durante Stakes is the leading turf race for fillies at the Del Mar autumn meeting, which runs from Nov. 11 to Dec. 4.
