Sovereign Award champion Wonder Gadot is a Grade 2 winner on dirt and finished second in the Kentucky Oaks in her most recent outing. She is a Grade 3 winner on synthetic and is Grade 1-placed on turf. She is the latest star filly for sire Medaglia d’Oro, and that versatility will serve her well as she heads to the Canadian classics, which reward proficiency on multiple surfaces.

Medaglia d’Oro is known as an outstanding sire of fillies, with Horse of the Year and Hall of Famer Rachel Alexandra emerging from his first crop. He also is the sire of two-time Eclipse Award winner Songbird, who won 13 of 15 starts, with her two defeats coming against fellow champions.

Medaglia d’Oro’s other filly standouts include Kentucky Oaks winner Plum Pretty; Breeders’ Cup Filly and Mare Sprint winner Bar of Gold; Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf winner New Money Honey; Elate, a multiple Grade 1 winner routing on dirt; Champagne d’Oro and Gabby’s Golden Gal, both multiple Grade 1 winners at shorter distances; turf Grade 1 winners Coffee Clique, C. S. Silk, Dickinson, and Marketing Mix; and Mexican champion Medaglia d’Orizaba.

Medaglia d’Oro’s versatility also shines through in his male offspring, with his best sons including Australian champion Vancouver, Breeders’ Cup Turf winner Talismanic, Australian Group 1 winner Astern, French Group 1 winner Passion for Gold, dual-surface Grade 1 winner Mshawish, turf Grade 1 winner Lochte, Grade 1-winning dirt sprinter Warrior’s Reward, and Grade 1-winning juveniles Bolt d’Oro and Violence.

Loving Vindication, a winner sprinting on dirt, has already produced Tropical Park Derby winner Solemn Tribute, a full brother to Wonder Gadot.

Second dam Chimichurri was a Grade 3 winner as a juvenile and finished second in the Grade 1 Prioress Stakes sprinting the following season. It is the extended family of Japanese champion Eishin Champ, European classic winners Mark of Esteem and Mashaallah, and Grade/Group 1 winners Avenge, Folk Art, and Local Talent.
