Quarntine lifted at Arapahoe Park

Mary Rampellini|Jun 29, 2016

A quarantine at Arapahoe Park has been lifted, the Colorado Department of Agriculture announced. The track had been on lockdown after a mare in its stable area tested positive for Equine Infectious Anemia. The quarantine, which did not keep Arapahoe from racing, was imposed last Thursday and was lifted Tuesday.

The mare with the positive Coggins test was euthanized Monday, according to the Colorado Department of Agriculture. An official said she had been retested for EIA. A pony stabled with the mare has been moved off the Arapahoe backstretch and to a separate quarantine facility. The pony’s status is exposed to, but not positive for, EIA.
