Quarantine off at Payson Park

The final restrictions for horses stabled at Payson Park because of the equine herpesvirus have been lifted, according to Julie Gauthier of the U.S. Department of Agriculture.

Tests on all horses stabled in the barn of trainer John Hennig, whose Fast Act died of equine herpesvirue on Dec. 22, have returned negative, according to Gauthier.

As a result, all restrictions at the Indiantown Gap, Fla., training facility, which was originally quarantined on Dec. 23, have been lifted. All horses stabled there are free to ship in or out as their connections choose.
