Renee Torbit/Coady Photography Quality Lass earned a thrilling victory in the Satin and Lace Stakes over Sweet Nkoski on Sunday at Presque Isle Downs.
Quality Lass prevailed in a thrilling blanket finish Sunday in the $100,000 Satin and Lace at Presque Isle Downs. Trained by Guadalupe Preciado, Quality Lass set the pace in the 5 1/2-furlong race for older fillies and mares until late stretch, where she was headed.
Jockey Antonio Gallardo went to work, and Quality Lass prevailed by a head over Sweet Nkoski who was a neck in front of Purely Hot in third at the wire. Another length and a neck separated the first seven of the eight horses in the race. Purely Hot briefly led in late stretch but seemed to lose her action, and she gave up the lead late.
Quality Lass ran the 5 1/2 furlongs in 1.04.07 over the Tapeta track and returned $13.60 to win.
