Quadrilateral tops cast for English 1000 Guineas

Quadrilateral, who won all three of her 2-year-old starts, including the Group 1 Fillies Mile, is favored over Millisle and Love in the Group 1 English 1000 Guineas on Sunday at Newmarket.

Trained by Roger Charlton for her breeder, Khalid Abdullah, Quadrilateral showed her quality second time out last year winning a conditions race at Newbury by nine lengths. That victory propelled the daughter of Frankel into the Fillies Mile, run like the 1000 Guineas over a straight mile at Newmarket, where she was a head better than Powerful Breeze, who’s not part of Sunday’s field.

Love finished third in the Fillies Mile after winning the Group 1 Moyglare Stud Stakes at Newmarket over Daahyeh, who returned to finish second to Sharing in the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf.

Millisle went 5-3-2-0 as a 2-year-old and captured the Group 1 Cheveley Park Stakes, but she’s never raced beyond six furlongs and was sired by a sprinter, Starspangledbanner.
