Vinery stallion Purge is the latest sire to join the ranks at Vinery’s new operation in New York. The 9-year-old Purge, a son of Pulpit, had been standing at Vinery’s Kentucky farm since his 2006 retirement from racing. He commanded a $7,500 fee this year. At Vinery New York, based at Empire Stud, Purge will stand for $5,000. A Grade 1 winner who earned $905,434, Purge is a top 10 second-crop sire this year. His runners include multiple stakes winner Macias, Panamanian stakes winners Outskirt Lady and Dixie Emperor, and several other stakes-placed runners. Vinery announced earlier this month that it would establish a stallion operation in New York. The farm made its first foray into the Empire State with Posse and Repent in 2010.
