ETOBICOKE, Ontario — Puntrooskei blew away a quality field Sunday at Woodbine while notching his first stakes in the $127,750 Woodstock, covering six furlongs in 1:09.31 under Jesse Campbell. Puntrooskie ($11.50) mounted a powerful wide rally from the back of the pack on the turn. He hit the front nearing the eighth pole before drawing off to score by five lengths, after being geared down late.  The favored Jose Sea View finished a clear second over Go Greeley, who edged him out in the voting for Canadian champion 2-year-old honors last year. After setting a lively pace, Callmeoldfashion faded to fourth in the six-horse field of 3-year-olds. Puntrooskie was the second winner on the card for the combination of Campbell and trainer Nick Gonzalez, who won the 2013 Queen’s Plate with Midnight Aria. Both of Sunday’s winners were claimed at Gulfstream by owner Tucci Stable. “I was sitting on a lot of horse, and I didn’t want to take a chance going inside,” Campbell said. “I didn’t expect him to swoop ‘em that easy. He was very impressive.” Puntrooskie earned $75,000 in his third start off the $50,000 claim.
