Pulled muscle sidelines Fantastic Style
Benoit & Associates Fantastic Style, winning the Great Lady M. at Los Alamitos, missed the Test Stakes with a pulled muscle.
DEL MAR, Calif. – Fantastic Style, the winner of the Grade 2 Great Lady M. Stakes at Los Alamitos on July 11, has been sidelined with a pulled muscle, trainer Bob Baffert said.
The injury was detected after the 3-year-old filly worked a half-mile in 48.20 seconds July 23 and kept Fantastic Style from a start in the Grade 1 Test Stakes at Saratoga on Saturday.
“She’s just jogging,” Baffert said. “She got muscle sore after her workout. I was going to run her in the Test but couldn’t do it.”
Baffert said Fantastic Style will be pointed for the Santa Anita autumn meeting. Owned by Kaleem Shah, Fantastic Style has won 4 of 6 starts and earned $272,000.
