Prospect Park resumes training

Shigeki Kikkawa Prospect Park will target the Affirmed Stakes on June 7.
Prospect Park, fourth in the $1 million Santa Anita Derby on April 4, is back in training after being diagnosed with an illness this month.
Prospect Park is based at the San Luis Rey Downs training center in northern San Diego County with trainer Clifford Sise.
“He’s back tack-walking,” Sise said. “He seems back to his old self again. He had something viral that was bugging him.”
The illness will keep Prospect Park out of the Triple Crown races, but Sise has targeted the $100,000 Affirmed Stakes for 3-year-olds at 1 1/16 miles at Santa Anita on June 7 for a comeback. Prospect Park races for owners and breeders Pam and Marty Wygod.
