Promise Me Silver's connections mull options

HOT SPRINGS, Ark. – The next-race plans for Promise Me Silver, who ran her record to 5 for 5 in the $100,000 Dixie Belle at Oaklawn on Thursday, are to be determined, trainer Bret Calhoun said Friday. He said at this point, there is at least one question to be debated.
“We have to decide if we want to stretch her out or not,” said Calhoun, who trains Promise Me Silver for Robert and Myrna Luttrell.

Calhoun said the $100,000 Martha Washington at a mile at Oaklawn on Jan. 31 likely will be too quick back for Promise Me Silver. He said an option later in the meet is the $100,000 Instant Racing at six furlongs April 11. Between now and then, Calhoun said Promise Me Silver will be considered for races like the Grade 2, $200,000 Davona Dale at a mile at Gulfstream on Feb. 21 and a $75,000 division of the Texas Stallion Stakes at seven furlongs at Sam Houston on Feb. 14.
Calhoun said he was pleased with how Promise Me Silver overcame some obstacles to win the Dixie Belle.
