SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. – Following a second-place finish in a first-level allowance here July 24, Amendment Nineteen was purchased privately by Juddmonte Farm and transferred to Brad Cox. Amendment Nineteen, formerly owned by D.J. Stable and trained by Linda Rice, will make her first start for her new connections in Saturday’s Grade 2, $250,000 Prioress Stakes for 3-year-old fillies at six furlongs. In three starts, Amendment Nineteen has a maiden win sandwiched around second-place finishes to Always Carina in a maiden race and Caramel Swirl in an allowance. “She’s a good physical, good mover,” Cox said. “Breezed her one time, she went along well enough. She’s coming out of a good heat. We’ll see how it goes.” The Prioress, which goes as race 5, is headed by Souper Sensational, winner of the Grade 3 Victory Ride at Belmont and runner-up to Bella Sofia in the Grade 1 Test. Also entered were Edie Meeny Miny Mo, Li’l Tootsie, Cilla, and Oxana. ◗ The other stakes on Saturday’s card is the Grade 3, $200,000 Saranac, where Public Sector will look to build on his one-length victory in the Grade 2 National Museum of Racing and Hall of Fame Stakes earlier this meet. Public Sector, trained by Chad Brown, will take on five turf rivals, including Like the King, He’spuregold, Never Surprised, Founder, and Mohs. Brown also entered Risk Taking for the main track only.
