Price may be enticing on 'Miss'

AUBURN, Wash. - Out of Bounds Miss has proven to be a value-seeking bettor's best friend through her first nine starts, winning five times without ever having been favored. She will try to improve upon that record in Friday's best race at Emerald Downs, a 6 1/2-furlong event for $20,000 fillies and mares.

Out of Bounds Miss, who hails from the barn of Dave Bennett, won her next-to-last start at 4-1, running down $10,000 claimers to score by three-quarters of a length in 1:10.20 for six furlongs. Bumped to the $12,500 level in her most recent outing on June 14, she posted a length victory after 6 1/2 furlongs in 1:16.80 at 5-1.

While it remains to be seen whether Out of Bounds Miss can make it three wins in a row, she is almost certain to again go off at enticing odds owing to Friday's double class jump, and she could be the value play. Gary Baze will take over the mount from leading rider Kevin Radke at 118 pounds.

Radke goes to Personal Decision, who could be favored off a presumed class advantage.

Personal Decision, a stakes winner in northern California at the age of 2, missed all of her 3-year-old year because of an injury and has not yet resumed her winning form at 4.

Trained by Bud Klokstad, Personal Decision made two starts against stakes company to no avail, then finished fourth to allowance rivals before running seventh to $32,000 claimers last time out on June 8.

Klokstad is cutting the claiming price drastically on Friday in hopes of getting Personal Decision back on the winning track.
