Precious Kitten sold, will stay with Frankel

Ken and Sarah Ramsey have privately sold their homebred Precious Kitten, a finalist for the female turf Eclipse Award, to Roy and Gretchen Jackson, according to an announcement the Ramseys made Friday.

The two-time Grade 1 winner will stay in training with Bobby Frankel in 2008.

"We hope she brings as much pleasure to the Jacksons as she did to us," Ken Ramsey said. "Selling her was a tough decision, and we'll miss running her in the big races this year."

Precious Kitten, a 5-year-old Catienus mare out of Kitten's First, won the 2007 Matriarch and John C. Mabee handicaps and four other stakes. In winning the Gallorette, she also set a 1 1/16-mile course record of 1:40.32 at Pimlico. To date, she has a lifetime record of 7 wins, 8 seconds, and 1 third from 19 starts and earnings of $1,419,688.
