SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. – Jockeys Flavien Prat and Kendrick Carmouche will both be serving three-day suspensions this week after being sanctioned by the stewards for careless riding. Prat will sit out Wednesday through Friday for his ride on Happy Farm in the eighth race on the July 14 card. In that race, Prat let Happy Farm come over on Thinkaboutit, forcing jockey Dylan Davis to take his horse up. Thinkaboutit overcame that trouble to win the race at odds of 20-1 while Happy Farm finished third. Carmouche will sit out Thursday through Saturday for his ride aboard Parade Ring in the sixth race on July 20. In that race, Parade Ring came over on Neom Beach bumping that one off stride in the stretch. Parade Ring finished third and Neom Beach fifth. Though there was a stewards’ inquiry, no change was made to the order of finish. Jockey Tyler Gaffalione is appealing a three-day careless riding suspension handed him by the stewards for his ride aboard Hero’s Medal in the second race on July 14 in which he interfered with another horse and was disqualified from fourth to sixth. :: DRF's 2023 Saratoga headquarters: Previews, past performances, picks, recaps, news, and more.
