Prairie Meadows: Take Me Up takes Wayne

ALTOONA, Iowa - Take Me Up unleashed a powerful rally, going from last to first in the final eighth of a mile to score a widening two-length upset over 1-5 shot Cowboy Stuff in Saturday's $60,000 John Wayne Stakes at Prairie Meadows.

Take Me Up ($9.60) broke slowly in the six-furlong John Wayne and trailed in the five-horse field, racing 9 1/2 lengths off the lead through a half-mile run in 45.31 by Take Me Up's stablemate, Le Numerous. Take Me Up, under Luis Quinonez, swept past Cowboy Stuff 70 yards from the wire and won in 1:10.09.
