Prairie Meadows: Plum Sober romps

ALTOONA, Iowa - Plum Sober ($3.40) stalked the pace to the stretch before drawing off through the final furlong to score a 4 1/4-length victory over War Reality in Saturday's $72,120 Iowa Cradle for 2-year-olds on Iowa Classic Night at Prairie Meadows. The race was one of six stakes on the card for Iowa-breds.

* As expected Lovethatlegend ($2.40) dominated her five rivals in the $72,020 Iowa Sorority, leading throughout to score a 5 1/2-length victory under Terry Thompson. Nearly $300,000 was wagered in the show pool on Lovethatlegend, creating a minus show pool of $72,353, a Prairie Meadows record.

* Soup for Lunch rallied to take the lead a furlong out and inched clear to a 1 1/4-length victory over Lovesmegold in the mile and 70-yard $73,350 Iowa Breeders' Oaks for 3-year-old fillies.

* Buzzle Ways under a patient ride from Jason Eads rallied to score a 1 1/4-length victory over Devilnine in the 1 1/16-mile $74,580 Iowa Breeders' Derby.

* Defending champion Sharky's Review ($3) stalked the pace to the stretch, took command in upper stretch and held off the late bid of O U Bet to score a three-quarter-length repeat victory in the $79,800 Donna Reed.

* Take Me Up ($3) burst between horses leaving the furlong marker and scored by a length over 12 rivals in the $82,800 1 1/16 mile Ralph Hayes for older Iowa-bred colts and geldings.
