Prairie Meadows: Chad Keller named racing secretary

Chad Keller has been named Thoroughbred and Quarter Horse racing secretary at Prairie Meadows.

Keller has worked in the Prairie Meadows racing office since 2000 and in 2006 was promoted to assistant Thoroughbred racing secretary. Keller has been the Quarter Horse racing secretary at Prairie Meadows since 2008.

The 67-day Prairie Meadows meet begins April 19 and runs through Aug. 10. It will be followed by a 26-day Quarter Horse meet that opens Aug. 17.

Purses at the Prairie Meadows Thoroughbred meet will average $225,000 per day. The stakes schedule is topped by three Grade 3 races that will be held June 29, the $300,000 Cornhusker Handicap, $250,000 Iowa Derby, and $200,000 Iowa Oaks.
