Post Time ‘not quite ready' for 2025 debut

Post Time recorded his first timed workout of the 2025 season on Saturday, running three furlongs in 37 seconds flat at Fair Hill Training Center. The graded stakes winner is nominated for several races in April, but trainer Brittany Russell said that he’s still working his way back.
“He’s not quite ready, and we’re at the stage where we’re going to nominate everywhere,” Russell said. “When I find myself ready to nail down a start, we will.”
After a pair of commanding stakes victories at Laurel Park to kick off his 2024 campaign, Post Time spent most of the remaining season in graded stakes in New York. In November, he shipped to Del Mar and finished second in the Grade 1 Breeders’ Cup Dirt Mile.
Training at Fair Hill, the 5-year-old has been charming Russell and her staff with his whimsical demeanor. The trainer said she has no concerns about his prospective return later this year.
Though the horse was nominated for the Frank Y. Whiteley and Native Dancer on April 12 at Laurel, there were never any plans for Post Time to race in April. His nomination for those races merely confirms the potential plans Russell mentioned last month. The trainer stated that she is still actively considering local races to ease him back into action.
