Pompano Park: McWicked makes first appearance of 2019 in qualifying action

Nikki Sherman McWicked is now a two-time Breeders Crown winner, having also taken the 2014 3-Year-Old Colt and Gelding Pace
McWicked, the 2018 Horse of the Year in both the United States and Canada, looked as sharp as a tack in his first tour of the track of this season, which came in a qualifier on Tuesday evening at Pompano Park.
Driven by Wally Hennessey, McWicked went to the front from the outside post five, cut fractions of 27 4/5, 55 4/5, and 1:24 1/5, closed in 27 1/5 to stop the clock in 1:51 2/5, and defeated last year's Three Diamonds champion, now 3-year-old pacing filly Prescient Beauty (Doug McNair), by 7 3/4 lengths.
An 8-year-old McArdle stallion owned by S S G Stables, McWicked owns 34 career wins and has banked $3,896,876.
