Pollard's Vision is retired

Pollard's Vision, a millionaire and multiple graded stakes winner, has been retired after being injured in the Aug. 6 Whitney Handicap, owner Edgewood Farm announced Monday.

Stud plans for Pollard's Vision, a 4-year-old Carson City colt, have not been announced.

finished eighth in the Whitney. His last victory came in the Grade 3 National Jockey Cub Handicap at Hawthorne on April 23, and he headed into the Whitney off a second-place finish in the Grade 1 Pimlico Special and a third-place finish in the Grade 1 Suburban.

Trained by Todd Pletcher, Pollard's Vision leaves the track with a record of 6-7-4 from 23 starts and a $1,430,311 bankroll.

Charles A. Smith bred Pollard's Vision from the unraced Dixieland Band mare Etats Unis. He sold for $70,000 at the 2003 Keeneland April 2-year-old auction.
