Pollard's Vision joins Ohio Derby

Chuck Scaravilli|Jun 07, 2004

Trainer Todd Pletcher had been intending to run Limehouse in Saturday's Grade 2, $350,000 Ohio Derby all along. On Monday, Thistledown officials found out Pletcher intends to run Pollard's Vision, too.

Limehouse and Pollard's Vision are expected to be joined by six others in the Ohio Derby, a 1 1/8-mile race for 3-year-olds. Others expected to run are Lane's End winner Sinister G, Trieste's Honor, Dashboard Drummer, Brass Hat, Jandemar, and perhaps Texas Deputy.

Both of Pletcher's horses are graded stakes winners. Pollard's Vision won the Grade 2 Illinois Derby at Hawthorne and then ran 17th in the Kentucky Derby. Limehouse, fourth in the Derby, won the Grade 2 Hutcheson at Gulfstream and Grade 3 Tampa Derby earlier this year.
