Pohdi Pohdi could return quickly for Fanfreluche

ETOBICOKE, Ontario – Pohdi Pohdi followed up an impressive debut effort on Aug. 23 with another impressive five-length victory in the Victorian Queen Stakes for Ontario-sired 2-year-old fillies on Oct. 11 at Woodbine. She could be back quickly for her next start, the Fanfreluche Stakes for Ontario-bred 2-year-old fillies on Sunday.
“It’s 15 days between races,” said trainer Robert Tiller. “She has come out of that last race very well. She did win eased up, and we are seriously considering running. As long as she trains good this week, she probably will be entered, and then if we want to scratch we can always scratch.”
The Fanfreluche, contested at six furlongs on the Polytrack, is one of two remaining sprint stakes for 2-year-old fillies on the Woodbine calendar. The other is the seven-furlong Glorious Song Stakes scheduled for Nov. 22 also on the Polytrack.
“Unfortunately, there’s really nowhere else for her to run,” Tiller said.
