Pocono: Youaremycandygirl digs in for Breeders Crown elim victory

A single Breeders Crown elimination was needed in the 3-year-old pacing filly division, and Youaremycandygirl used an early move to secure the victory and a chance to draw an inside post in the October 27 final.
Leaving from post one, driver Yannick Gingras and Youaremycandygirl elected to wait momentarily as Alexa's Power charged off the gate to take command from Double A Mint well before the 27 4/5 opening quarter. Gingras then made his move and had the daughter of American Ideal on the engine at the three-eighths pole.
Once in charge, Youaremycandygirl did her own thing through fractions of 56 3/5 and 1:24 2/5. She would meet up with a challenge from pocket-sitter Alexa's Power in the stretch and dug in nicely under a drive for the win in 1:52 over the sloppy surface at The Downs at Mohegan Sun Pocono.
Double A Mint raced steadily for third ahead of fellow finalists Solitary, Dance Blue, Percy Bluechip and Strong Opinion. They will join Kissin In The Sand and Baron Remy who took byes.
The William Donovan-owned Youaremycandygirl has now won seven times in 14 starts this year for trainer Ron Burke. She paid $4.20 to win.
This is how the fillies will line up for the final:
1-Strong Opinion
2-Alexa's Power
3-Double A Mint
4-Percy Bluechip
5-Youaremycandygirl
6-Dance Blue
7-Baron Remy
8-Solitary
9-Kissin In The Sand
