Pocono: Horses to watch from Sept. 30 - Oct. 3
Saturday, September 30
GINGER TREE CASH (NW12500) was uncovered at 15-1 pressing the speedy well-bet second choice but was held at bay while next best and deserves long look in next.
SOUTHWIND FLASH (NW12000) was a handy wire to wire winner in last facing pressure most of the way.
MAXDADDY BLUE CHIP (NW17500) closed well but too late from third over. Beaten favorite can atone in quick order.
YANKEE HEAVEN (CLMHCP15/17500) followed wide, had cover to the lane, closed strong and could be there with better trip.
Sunday, October 1
BRALEY HANOVER (NW7) closed well from second over on a speed favoring niight.
DOREL (NW5) wired the field handily and will be tough in next.
MAJOR KEY (NW3) had cover, lost ground in the final turn but closed well once straightened away and earns long look in next.
UF LARRY ALLTHEWAY (NW3100) was third over in poor flow and had to go wide. Spent too much time sucking air but closed gamely and looms as tough to beat with better trip.
Monday, October 2
ELDORADO OF GOLD S (NW3000) was toward the back and moved coming to the half, went around a quitting clogger but was stuck wide a bit, settled in second over by the third panel, tired but rallied all out and just missed to the tripped-out pocket horse.
SEE YOU FRIDAY (NW2) had poor cover and was forced wide prematurely, closed in with good pace at 20-1. Maybe we can see hin in the winners circle next Monday.
MILDREDS BUTTON (CLMHCP10/12500M) left, tucked, pulled to the third panel, rallied well around tired cover, rolled into the lane, ducked to the rail and closed gamely.
LAKEVIEW TAMMY (NW6000) was third over and wide to clear traffic, rallied gamely and closed well.
Tuesday, October 3
ROLL BABY ROLL (NW5FM) was 4th over to the lane, rallied strongly between horses but ran out of track.
OUT OF SIGHT (NW3FM) left, tucked, saved to the lane, rallied well between horses but in very tight quarters.
ROCK ME BABY (NW9000M) grinded a long way to gain the lead, put up a quick third panel and proved to be a handy winner. Can take another.
YS TALLIA (NW14000FM) beaten favorite was third over in poor flow, went wide, rallied and closed well but had few steps too far to come.
