Pocono: Horses to watch from Sept. 27 - Sept. 30

Ken Walters|Oct 03, 2025

Saturday, September 27

AVELLINO (W4-6) left wide, got parked the mile uncovered, challenged to the lane before tiring and could get luckier in next.

MANOLETE (NW17500) yielded for the pocket and nailed the favorite with little urging. Can take another.

BELMONT ROYALE N (NW12500) had tiring cover, rushed wide, challenged at 11-1, had aim but was nailed by the good rally of the favorite.

DAIQUIRI HANOVER (W4-6) left, settled for the pocket and won going away in strong win.

BEAUJOLAIS BREEZE (NW4) sat pocket and blew by easily and can take another.

BROOKDALE SEB (CLM15000) beaten favorite was parked to the lead, battled a determined foe to the lane, tired and was nailed by the tripped-out second favorite. Should atone in next.

Monday, September 29

CHARMING VIXEN (NW3500M) prohibitive favorite brushed and crushed cruising away by seven and will win again hopefully at a better price.

BAMBINO JOE (CLM7500) finished full of pace from the back of the pack at over 30-1 to get up for third place and would be no surprise.

ANDIAMO (NW2/2YOF) was parked, brushed around cover to the top passing the half, faced pressure early and late, dug in but was nosed on the wire by the fast-closing odds-on favorite She will win in next race or two.

STAMPHILLSHADOW GB (NW1500M) stablemate of the above filly brushed and crushed in her outing and can step up and beat better.

CELEBRITY ROLEX (NW5500) was parked the mile, challenged to the lane before tiring. I would watch out for her next time.

JORDANNA HANOVER (W4-6FM) challenged the leader to the lane but was out finished by the tripped-out pocket sitting odds-on favorite.

Tuesday, September 30

BUCKEYE CASH (CLMHCP125/15000) rushed up, challenged the pace at 11-1 but was second best in good try and bears watching.

DUCKIES DYNASY (CLMHCP10/12500) sat last, rallied wide and fast upsetting at nearly 27-1 and can take another.

PARK OFFICIAL (CLM7500) took the lead, yielded, got shuffled at the third call and caught behind a tiring early leader. Had traffic in the lane and and showed pace when clear but it was too late.

MISER NICE CAPT'N (NW1) broke at the start, recovered and was 4th over the final turn, closed well and just missed. Beaten favorite will gain a win soon.

ALLIANCE (CLMHCP10/12500) yielded, got shuffled when the lead changed early leader gave way, tipped in the final turn, rallied wide and fast but ran out of track. Beaten favorite gets another look in next.

TOUCHBACK (NW3) tucked early, rallied late up the rail and would be no surprise in next.

WHITE TIGER (NW3600) sat to the final turn, rallied wide, roared home and could catch the win in next.
