Pocono: Horses to watch from Sept. 23 - Sept. 26
Saturday, September 23
BADIX HANOVER (NW6000) came uncovered at 11/1, challenged the pacesetting favorite but was held at bay. Same move gets the job done against most.
BOOGIE NIGHTS (NW12000) went down the road and seemed to have something left for another big effort in next.
LOW CARD (CLM15000) put an early challenger in the pocket, stayed to the last step but was stunned (as were most) by the late charge of a 90-1 upsetter busting through the stretch.
E STREET PLAN (NW12000) saved ground, rallied late and will find a spot soon.
Sunday, September 24
PRIME POWER N (NW22500) was behind dead cover, tipped and broke, took back, rallied again but was wide a long way but still closed well to be second best.
G FORCE HANOVER (NW3000) followed the winner wide and chased him to the wire to earn a game second.
JUXLIVIN MY DREAM (NW3000) rushed to the top, put an early challenger in the pocket, met a stern challenge from the parked-out uncovered favorite from there to the lane, put him away but tired and was nailed late by a late closer.
DRUM HANOVER (NW1) rushed up uncovered, challenged to the third panel, took the lead passing the marker and rolled away.
Monday, September 25
GET TO DOIN IT (CLMHCP15/20000) left, tucked, pulled to the half, raced strong uncovered, took the lead into the lane and dug in but was nipped by the second-over tripped-out favorite.
SIMEON (CLMHCP15/20000) left to the top, yielded, sat pocket but got a bad shuffle into the lane, slipped clear with willing finish and deserves some respect in next race or two.
LIFE STRIKES (NW3000) tucked at the quarter, pulled to the half and launched a bid, seemed beaten passing the third call but found some more and came on gamely through the lane to just miss.
MAJOR GRADUATE (NW2FM) blew by the pacesetting favorite from second over and looked to have plenty left.
Tuesday, September 26
CAROLINE HANOVER (NW5FM) left to the top, yielded, got shuffled behind a dead one, cleared inside heading home and closed well.
SAGE N (NW9000M) closed strongest from second over and will be a factor for a few races.
NORTHERN SOIREE (NW12000FM) rallied four wide the last quarter and should not be ignored.
LITTLE HANOVER (NW3FM) rallied four wide and closed well.
