Pocono: Horses to watch from October 1-4
Saturday, October 1
BETTOR MEMORIES (NW12000) sat last to the final turn, rallied but was forced wide destroying any momentum. Settled and closed with good pace.
KINGSTONS BAD BOY (CLMHCP20/25000) was bet like he had a chance but got stuck behind dead cover and raced a long time blindswitched by a long, wide foe. Showed enough life when clear to earn a look in next.
INDIGO ART (CLMHCP30/40000) was second over and blindswitched the final turn to the lane, angled out, hit stride a step too late and just missed.
BRAVO TEX N (CLMHKCP30/40000) sat buried into the lane, tipped into more traffic, hit the accelerator late and would be no surprise.
BIZYS BEATIE (CLMHCP20/25000) was out a long way, challenged, took the lead heading home but tired. Beaten favorite will have a better trip next out.
PURPLE POET (CLMHCP30/40000) trailed, rallied wide, ducked in clearing dead stuff, rallied gamely between horses and almost got there.
Monday, October 3
CAVIART MAX (NW4500) pulled to follow cover, got in tight spot into a turn as the once in front floated and the one on the rail also floated, broke and never got back in racing wide a long way.
STELLENBOSCH (NW4000M) well-bet second choice was on the rail to the final turn, slipped into traffic, ducked back in and cleared too late between horses to rally.
MAXIMUS MIKI (NW1) first timer sat to the rear to the final turn, rallied wide with good finish to get up for 3rd and could get that first win in next race or two.
VILLIAGE JADE (W-7FM) rallied wide, stacked 4 deep and finished strong but just missed.
Tuesday, October 4
TWO PROUD (NW1FM) wired the field easily and should be heard from again.
MY BOY JACK (NW5) was parked the mile, challenged all the way, finally took the lead by headstretch but tired at 33-1 in game effort.
QUINNPATRICKSHEA (NW2FM) saved to the lane, tipped and finished well but just miss.
JAGEN HGHAR (NW2) returned to racing after a long hiatus, raced second over to the prohibitive favorite and nailed his maiden win by a neck with game rally.
