Pocono: Horses to watch from Oct. 6 - Oct. 10

Ken Walters|Oct 12, 2015

Tuesday, October 6

PITTSBURGH HANOVER (NW3/2-4YO) closed fast from 4th over near the back of the pack and just missed.

SOUTHWIND WARSAW (NW6500) was much the best on the front end last time after an early brush to the top and will be hard to deny in next outing.

BITTERSWEET CHAMP (NW6000) closed gamely at 65-1 but had to settle for second best.

SOBORO HANOVER (NW3/2-4YO) absolutely crushed the competition drawing away with every step from the half to the wire.

IF YOU WANT FIRE and PENNYFORURTHOUGHTS (NW5/2-4YO) both sat in and toured the track in last. Both come from barns that are too respected and both should find suitable places to get the job done.

Wednesday, October 7

VELOCITY VESPA (CLM10000M) set the pace, met pressure and drew away as much the best. Speed rules at Pocono and she has speed.

LEAVEUMLADY (NW13000M) late rush from second over nearly got it done and this miss gets another look in next.

CLASSIC CARPET (NW9000M) closed strongest from third over and can get to the winner's circle in near future.

SPRING CRUISE (NW3/2-4YOFM) had too far to come in last but came wide into the lane charged home in good order.

Friday, October 9

BRANDONS ESCAPE (CLM5000) was parked the mile, challenged the odds on favorite a very long time and was dead game second best.

LEGACY N DIAMONDS (NW3000) set the pace on own to the final turn, battled with the pocket sitting favorite the last quarter and was second best.

MACHMILLIONS (CLM11000) was parked the mile, chased the pace and was second best in game effort. Beaten favorite can atone with any kind of improvement in his trip in next.

RESCUE PLAN (NW4500) was out to the lead, yielded and got shuffled back, had to pull in the final turn, followed wide and closed well. Trip was just a bit too much to overcome.

Saturday, October 10

KING OF THE CROP (NW5000) was out a long way uncovered, challenged and gamed it out to the wire to earn second to the pocketsitter.

PLAY IT AGAIN SAM (CLMHCP15/20000) closed well from the back of the pack and earns look in next race or two.

CHINA KING (NW15500) closed well inside and can beat this kind with the right trip.

RAY HALL (NW24500) closed strong, won going away and should be a force in next.
