Pocono: Horses to watch from Oct. 29 - Nov. 1

Ken Walters|Nov 05, 2016

Saturday, October 29

SPEED AGAIN (NW9000) was in the pocket and getting a shuffle as the lead changed into the lane, angled out, rallied gamely but hit his best stride too late. Beaten favorite can atone in next.

GLENFERRIE DREAMER (NW12000) took the lead, yielded, retook and was much the best winning as he pleased.

HUMILITY (NW6000) put in a game effort from the pocket at 10-1 in last and earns a look in next.

FREENEASY HANOVER (CLM20000) closed gamely but was second best on the board and in the photo.

YS LOTUS (NW13000) closed well but late from third over in most recent and can get it done with right trip.

Sunday, October 30

STUD ALLEY (NW1FM) came uncovered and rolled over the speed proving to be much the best.

HAVE NOT READ IT (NW5PM) was parked the mile uncovered in game effort and should take home top prize soon.

MAC ATTACK (NW1) well bet second choice was out a long way to the lead, set a pressed pace, put away the challenger but was unable to hold off the favored pocket-sitter.

MANNY (NW7) beaten favorite had too far to come from third over and should not be discounted.

DREAM MERCHANT (NW1) took a quick lead, yielded, got shuffled, raced uncovered, challenged and dug in gamely but the late closing twice wide winner was just too tough.

Monday, October 31

KAYLAS DREAM (CLMHCP75/10000) was uncovered a long way, challenged to the last steps and got nipped on the wire by the huge finish of the 55-1 longshot winner.

WANNA MAKE MONEY (NW2) came out in the final turn, rallied and tipped wide finishing full of trot but the winner had gotten away.

LEET HANOVER (NW2FM) pulled the pocket, challenged, had the lead into the lane but was nailed late. Beaten favorite will give it another try in next and would be no suprise.

CAROLINE HANOVER (NW2FM) finished strongest from far back and ran out of track.

DOC (CLMHCP75/10000) left, tucked, came uncovered, challenged and was a commendable second best at 13-1.

Tuesday, November 1

IRISH KATH N (NW11000FM) closed well second over to the winner and earns a longlook in next.

REGAL WOMAN (NW3FM) tucked, sat pocket till ready, pulled, pounced, took the lead and dug in gamely but was second over.

ROCK ME BABY (NW5FM) closed strongest but had too far to come.

ANWAR HANOVER (NW3) was rough at the start, broke, got bothered and broke past the quarter, recovered and launched a huge stretch rally but made a speed break with victory in his sights.

STIRLING DEBUTANT (NW6000) left, tucked, broke into the turn, got back on stride, raced second over with good finish and should not be ignored.
