Pocono: Horses to watch from Oct. 15 - Oct. 18
Saturday, October 15
SHORE OF HIMSELF (CLMHCP30/40000) left well to the lead, yielded and was shuffled, raced second over, tucked the pocket, had traffic in the lane, altered course, flattened out but should not be ignored in next race or two.
INDIGO ART (CLMHCP30/40000) veteran tucked, brushed and crushed winning second in a row in a new lifetime best.
CANT SAY NO (NW19000) was parked the mile, challenged, could not clear but dug in gamely to hold a well-earned second place.
MONTY MONO (CLMHCP30/40000) was fourth over, rallied 4 wide a long way and was tiring late but should get a better trip in next.
Monday, October 17
STOMP (NW2/2YO) was parked the mile, challenged to the stretch before giving way.
STELLENBOSCH (NW4000M) brushed and crushed in latest and will be heard from again.
BRILLIANT BEAUTY (NW9000M) was parked to the final turn, tucked and tired. Could get luckier with better trip.
CATIE FAYE HANOVER (NW4FM) rallied wide from third over to clear a tiring foe and closed with good pace.
Tuesday, October 18
JAGEN H'GHAR (NW2) trotter scored handily to record second straight victory off the layoff and looked like he had plenty left.
ULI BLUE CHIP (NW2/2YOF) went down the road but was nailed by the late close of the odds-on winner with the rest of the field far behind.
KING KONG KALIBRE (NW1) tried the front end at 15-1, rebuffed the challenge of the odds-on favorite but was nailed by the tripped-out winner.
DIVINE SPIRIT (NW4000) tucked and was shuffled a bit, tipped in the final turn, gained unwanted cover, went wide and closed with good trot.
