Pocono: Horses to watch from Oct. 11 - Oct. 15

Ken Walters|Oct 18, 2014

Saturday, October 11

CONTRABAND HANOVER (CLMHCP25/3000) left well, took the lead, yielded, got shuffled when the winner brushed to command, found room inside through the lane with good finish and earns some looks for next.

SAWBUCK (CLM10000) came wide around tired cover in the final turn, rallied all out and game to the wire chasing the pocket sitting odds-on the favorite.

ARTICULATE (CLM10000) followed wide around tired one to the past the half, got and forced even wider, rallied steadily and some racing luck might be all he needs.

BUBS DESIRE (NW13500) made a game rally from the back of the pack at 36-1 in last and has to be respected in next outing.

Tuesday, October 14

KNOCKING AROUND (NW4000) crushed the variant winning last going away in strong two-move effort. Brushed to the top coming to the half, yielded and sat pocket, tipped and roared home. Should be tough to beat in next.

TALK STRATEGY (NW5) finished full of pace to nail the favorite on a night when late closers were not getting it done and his late kick has to be respected.

WALDORF HALL (NW7000) brushed and crushed in a laugher as the prohibitive favorite and seemed to have plenty left.

HES LUCKY (CLMHCP125/15000) was more than lucky in last. He was good. He left, tucked, pulled uncovered, ranged to the leader, took aim heading home and closed strong.

Wednesday, October 15

TEA PARTY CRAZE (NW2/2-4YO) sat in, looked from room, tipped late and closed willingly.

BUDDHA BLUE CHIP (NW7000) beaten favorite put in a good down the road effort but was nailed on the wire. Should atone in quick order.

CELEBRITY ARTEMIS (NW1/2-4YOFM) tipped in the final turn, ducked back in heading home and closed gamely.

CAMERON LUCKY (CLMHCP75/10000FM) left, tucked, pulled uncovered to the half, went to the leader, challenged to the lane and closed gamely but was nipped by the tripped-out pocket sitter.
