Pocono: Horses to watch from November 16 - November 19
Saturday, November 16
GENTLEMAN JIM II IR (COND) was a game second best at 17-1 chasing the odds-on pacesetter and should not be ignored.
CROWN MONARCH (W4-7) rushed up uncovered to the third panel, challenged to the lane before faltering. A better-timed move could get it done.
YO BETH D (NW12500) was in the pocket, got stuck in final turn traffic and was in a blindswitch, finished with good trot once into clear. Beaten favorite would be no surprise in next.
HESA KINGSLAYER N (COND) sat last to the final turn, wheeled wide around poor cover and showed some good late pace.
TUG ANGEL (W4-7) closed well from second over and earns a look in next race or two.
Monday, November 18
CONTROL GROUP (COND) rallied the third panel, was out the final turn and closed well but was second at the end. Can bring home the prize in next.
VIRGO (NW4400) was a speedy front-stepping handy winner in last and can take another.
SELINAS CHOICE (NW2FM) rushed up to the third panel but was second best to the quick-stepping front-pacing favorite.
CANTKEEPMIASECRET (NW4800) jogged to open-length victory and will be hard to catch again.
RUN BABY (COND) raced second over, rallied wide and closed in but was second in the photo at 12-1.
Tuesday, November 19
BEACH COWGIRL (NW12500M) set a good clip, put away a last-quarter challenger and was a handy winner.
ORDAINED (NW4) brushed early and cruised around the oval winning easily.
HELLO YES HI (NW5000M) tucked, sat pocket and won going away to one of three straight winners for the barn on the card.
EMPTY NEST (NW4FM) tucked early, rushed up, challenged the prohibitive favorite, weakened but was second best easily.
