Pocono: Horses to watch from Nov. 4 - Nov. 7

Ken Walters|Nov 09, 2017

Saturday, November 4

JOHNNY Q (NW6100) pulled to the half, brushed to the lead, battled the favorite the last three-eighths but was second best.

MAINLAND KEY N (CLMHCP10/12500) raced third over, had to go wide a long way the last turn but closed well to just miss.

DR CS Z TAM (NW3400) went to the lead, got away from all but the odds-on favorite and could not stall that one's late move.

BILLY BUTTON (CLMHCP15/17500) left well, took a lead, yielded but was shuffled out in the final turn, had traffic trying to find a route heading home and never had a chance.

Sunday, November 5

UKNOW WHAT TO DO (NW5) left fast to the top, yielded, sat pocket and closed easily for a handy score looking like there was more in the tank.

TOP DOLLAR (NW3000) tucked early, pulled to the half, raced uncovered a long way and won impressively.

DREAMS ARE TRUE (NW1) put in solid down the road effort over a tiring track but was nailed in the last steps.

EXPLOSIVE VICTORY (NW3000) tuckead early, pulled to the third call, rallied around a badly gapping pocket horse and chased the leader to the end getting up in the last step.

Monday, November 6

GREAT SOUL (CLM7500) was in the pocket when the leader broke and had trouble clearing the scene, lost ground, rallied strong and earned the win and might be in line for another score with less trouble.

KEYSTONE CHARGER (NW2) rushed to the top at 28-1, set a good clip (the horse charted on the lead was actually breaking to the half and running inside the pylons) and was nailed by the uncoverd even money favorite.

EL PESCADORO (NW7500) went to the lead, yielded, sat pocket but got shuffled back as the lead changed the speed faded, rallied back heading home and won going away.

STARS N SPARKLES (NW7500) came wide from third over and closed well but too late.

Tuesday, November 7

PRETTY BOY HILL (NW3300) well-bet second choice rallied four wide in the final turn and closed well but had too far to come.

STITCH IN TIME (NW10500) yielded twice, sat pocket to the odds-on favorite and was second best.

BONIELLO (NW3000M) saved to the final turn, swung out, rushed wide and closed well at 88-1 to earn a look in next.

WARRAWEE QUALLY (NW3000M) was strong to the lead, set a pressed pace and dug in gamely to the end.

FUTURE SECURED (NW3FM) romped on the front end and should take anoher.
