Pocono: Horses to watch from Nov. 15 - Nov. 19

Ken Walters|Nov 20, 2014

Saturday, November 15

CRIMSON CRUISER (CLM10000) finished wide and strong but too late. Just missed at 12-1 and cannot be ignored.

MOSEE TERROR (NW10500) brushed to command, set a good clip and was nailed on the wire. Beaten favorite has the speed to atone in quick order.

SOLAR SURPRISE (CLMHCP25/30000) was used by the half coming wide around dead cover, cleared and chased the pace to the lane, dug in but was nailed on the wire but fresher fast-footed foe.

SIR RICHARD Z TAM (NW10500) rallied wide in the final turn, flattened by the time he got to the stretch.

Tuesday, November 18

ESCAPADO (NW2/2-4YO) was on the lead when he stumbled, went off stride and left the track, recovered and got back in the race, came uncovered and proved to be a threat to the wire. Beaten favorite had a major excuse and will atone soon.

LONG STORY SHORT (NW4600) short and simple. He tucked, he tipped, he challenged, he won easily.

CELEBRITY SCANDAL (NW5500) finished very wide, very fast but a step too late. Missed by the slimmest of margins and will get it done soon.

WARRAWEE NEEDY (NW5500) whizzed around the track in quick order leaving plenty for next outing.

COUNTRYGIRL AS (NW4/2-4YO) finished well from an impossible spot and nearly pulled it off at 20-1.

Wednesday, November 19

WHATAGAMBLE (CLM5000) brushed to command past the quarter, met early pressure and late pressure and proved to be an impressive winner.

CLIMATE HANOVER (CLM15000FM) yielded, retook, set the pace under pressure and was nailed on the wire on a rare night when speed was not holding at Pocono. Give this beaten favorite another chance.

CRESCENT FASHION (NW2/2-4YO) was looking good on the front end heading home when he broke. Do not ignore this beaten favorite in next.

BEAUTIFUL LADY (NW13000FM) was used hard to the lead, set a good clip and tired. Another speedy beaten favorite that deserves another chance.
