Pocono: Horses to watch from May 8 - May 11

Ken Walters|May 13, 2021

Saturday, May 8

KEYSTONE STEAM (CLMHCP20/25000) came uncovered with game rally but bore in just enough to cause a few foes to break.

BELL I NO (CLMHCP30/40000) was uncovered and game at 5-1 to the tripped-out favorite.

DA MAGICIAN (NW3000) was parked, challenged to the third call, grabbed the lead but faced immediate pressure and tired while proving second best in impressive effort.

BLACKLIGHT (NW6000) tucked early, pulled to the third panel, rallied uncovered and closed the gap on the pacesetting prohibitive favorite but just missed.

MYKINDACHIP (NW17500) tipped past the third panel and rallied smartly but just missed to tripped-out favorite.

Sunday, May 9

HIGHVIEW CONALL N (CLM7500) rallied wide but a step or two late. Earns a long look in next.

VALIANT IVY (CLMHCP125/15000) trailed in short field, swung wide the final turn and closed stoutly to win impressively.

JUSTLIKEAQUEEN (NW6000M) went to the top, yielded, sat pocket and won going away.

TOPVILLE ANGELINA (NW10500M) was uncovered and a game second best to the even-money pacesetter.

Monday, May 10

NATIONAL SPORT (NW3000) was parked a long way before tucking the pocket as it opened past the third panel and was second best to the well-bet second choice. Beaten favorite can atone with better trip.

GREEK LEGEND (NW6000) pulled near the third call and came uncovered with good trot to be a solid second to the pocket-sitting favorite.

SNUF ENUF HANOVER (NW3) sat near the rear, rallied wide the final turn with good pace.

POND JUMPER (CLMHCP125/15000) was parked to the lead and went down the road to the late stages.

Tuesday, May 11

BUGGER BRUISER (CLM7500) was buried on the rail, slipped out, angled wider to clear traffic and closed best of all to be second to the prohibitive favorite.

TEMPURA HANOVER (NW2) tipped in the final turn, rallied wide around a dead piece, continued all through the lane with good finish.

CANT SAY NO (W4-7) beaten favorite came uncovered, challenged, appeared beaten but rallied back gamely and just missed.

HIGH MINDED (NW4FM) was a handy down the road winner and can take another.
