Pocono: Horses to watch from May 20 - May 23

Ken Walters|May 26, 2017

Saturday, May 20

GOKUDO HANOVER (NW9500) was second over a long way, wide the last quarter, loomed heading home but tired and would be right there with better trip.

LUCK BE WITHYOU (NW22500) won easily on the front end and seemed to have plenty left.

ARTS ON FIRE (CLM10000) buried them in front end romp and has to be given a long look for repeat.

WHO DO YOU LIKE (CLM15000) was parked to the lead, put away one half hearted challenger, put away a stern challenger from the third call, met a third challenger through the lane but was too beat up by the fractions and the challengers.

Sunday, May 21

MIGRATE BLUE CHIP (NW7) had some hidden movement in last effort as he left and challenged early, took up, looked for a tuck and finally found one, got shuffled when the action started, rallied mildly in the lane and should not be ignored in next.

KEYSTONE BODACIOUS (NW7) trotter showed some early speed, tucked, came on late and was second best.

CHARMED LIFE (WO25000) rallied best of all from an impossible spot in latest.

CAPSLOCK HANOVER (NW1) won the front end at 20-1 in last putting away a strong uncovered bid from the odds-on favorite.

Monday, May 22

STONEBRIDGE HALL (NW3000) tucked early, pulled passing the half, grinded uncovered, rallied gamely and just missed.

NORTHWEST YANKEE (STALLION) was parked the mile, chased uncovered, refused to go away and dug in gamely while tiring.

INDEPENDENT ONE (STALLION) closed well from far back and should be a threat.

DOREL (STALLION) charged home wide and game to nail the pacesetting favorite in the last steps.

Tuesday, May 23

GWENEEEE J (NW12500M) wired the field in variant busting effort and should take another or two.

DRIVINGTHEDRAGON N (NW9000M) sat in and closed willingly to be third best on the board and on the track. Smart barn will find a winning spot in no time.

JOHNNY Q (NW3000) rallied wide on night when speed absolutely ruled and was a strong 2nd. Can score with right trip.

MR RIGHT (NW10000) brushed and crushed in last drawing away without a deep breath.
