Pocono: Horses to watch from May 2 - May 8

Ken Walters|May 09, 2016

Monday, May 2

SPICEDBOURBONGIRL (NW2FM) wired the field in seasonal debut in easy fashion.

SOAPY SAP (NW3000) trotted strong from second over in last and won going away.

UPFRONTSTRIKESGOLD (CLMHCP10/12500) closed well but the odds on favorite had gotten away on the front end.

SKYWAY CRUISER (NW3000) closed well and just missed the tiring pacesetting favorite. Well bet second choice can get it done in next outing.

DREAMING OF LORI (CLM7500) got stuck behind a dead one in last and had no shot. A better trip can get this one a victory.

Tuesday, May 3

ALL ABOUT KISSES (NW12000M) yielded, retook and set a good clip, dug in stubbornly but tired as most front end speed was going on this evening.

ROCKET J (NW3) left, tucked, pulled, brushed, set a good clip and could not last as the pocket sitting winner got him in the last steps.

JUDGE RUSSELL (NW3) had too much traffic to clear but closed strongly but too late once clear.

JUICE HANOVER (NW3200M) was parked the mile, challenged all the way in valiant efffort but tired.

SUSPICIOUS HANOVER (NW6000) brushed to the lead after the speed settled, got away and was well wrapped up through the lane to be the only front stepping winner on the card.

Saturday Afternoon, May 7

PERRITO CALIENTE (NW3000) jogged on the front end last time out and the tank should still be full.

CINNABAR HALL (NW3000) was parked to the lead, set own clip and won easily.

MYSHARONA BLUECHIP (NW6000) brushed to the lead passing the half and never looked back in impressive victory.

Saturday Evening, May 7

BIGTOWN HERO (NW22500) brushed to the lead, set a good clip in front-stepping variant-busting victory.

ASLAN (NW22500) closed fastest of all on the evening to earn second and could get lucky in next.

TOMY TERROR (NW9200) beaten favorite closed best but moved too late.

Sunday, May 8

DOUBLE L LINDY (NW1) set the pace and drew off easily.

ALLEN ROAD (NW1) broke his maiden with an impressive front stepping effort.

MERCEDES LORENE (NW1FM) had poor cover but closed well. Beaten favorite can atone in quick order.

EMPEROR MONTANA N (NW3500) proved best in front stepping victory and should be able to take better.

ENDEAVOR (NW1) came uncovered and powered home to win going away in most recent outing.
